About us – The North Calotte Cross-Border Advice Service
The North Calotte Cross-Border Advice Service guides individuals and enterprises who commute, work, live, study or do business across the border in Finland, Sweden and Norway. The Cross-Border Advice Service is financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The North Calotte Cross-Border Advice service is one of the three cross-border information services in the Nordic countries, together with Øresunddirekt that focuses on cross-border questions between Sweden and Denmark, and Grensetjänsten that focuses on cross-border questions between Sweden and Norway.
Guidance with living and working across borders
Are you a so-called frontier worker? Is your pension paid by a country different from the one you currently live in? Are you planning to move across the border? Whatever your situation, the North Calotte Cross-Border Advice Service helps and guides you through it. We can inform you about the things you have to take into account and direct you to the relevant public services in either Finland, Sweden or Norway.
Guidance for enterprises
Are you planning on starting or expanding your business across the border in Finland, Sweden and Norway? Would you like to recruit your employees from another country? Do you need support in finding the right public services or just generally wonder how you should proceed? Whatever you ask, we can give you advice.
Have you encountered a legal or administrative border obstacle? Please tell us about it. The North Calotte Cross-Border Advice Service documents the border obstacles that arise in our region and analyses whether they are to be solved at the local, regional or national level. If a local solution cannot be found, we raise the issue to the Nordic Border Obstacle Council.
The North Calotte Cross-Border Advice Service has two offices. One is located in Tornio-Haparanda and guides individuals, enterprises and organisations in questions concerning Finland and Sweden. The other office is located in Skibotn and focuses on questions concerning Finland and Norway.
